Dip (Dimmer) switch positioning
03/07/10 at 20:18:34

Could some one please give me some measurements of where the dip switch should be positioned on the floor in a 69/70 sportsroof as my floor to firewall has been repaired and the holes for the fixings were not redrilled.

Looks like its even with the bottom of the pedals which makes sense cause this is where you foot is, pic should give you an idea

I'll try and remember to measure tonight if no one else can help in the mean time.

Thanks Darren,
But I think yours is wrong as I thought that the mounting fixings were meant to be vertical with the wiring coming out of the side but I may be wrong.
If you could give me measurements of where yours is positioned I could always position mine in the same spot and if anyone ever picks it up I can always blame it on you Grin Grin Grin
No just kidding but the measurements would be helpfull.

69Ish you are correct. The wires come out towards the peddles. There is a black plastic pad that fits to the floor and it has a turn up with 3 recesses to accommodate the wire and hold them in position. This pad also insulates the wire from the floor. The fixings are horizontal as you indicated. I will need to measure a car for you to get the correct measurements. There is also a rubber cap available that fits over the foot activated switch. This was never standard but it does look smart.
If you are restoring a car you can give me a ring. I only charge for silly questions.

Thanks Peter,
I need to get a interior manual for starters I have the other 4 manuals but am missing that one I will get some pricing of you for some interior components and  some exterior stainless trims I need when I become a little more cashed up, I am just doing what I can at the moment with what I already have ordered.
If you could get me some measurements it would be much appreciated
Regards Rodney

Rodney, I was offering free advice not plugging the shop. My door is always open to the club members and my limited knowledge is freely given.

Pete,
I was not meaning to offend (For lack of a better word), I was not insinuating that you were getting a plug in for your shop.
I was just stating that my business has been very quiet in the past 18 months or so and I am not all that cashed up as to be able to be spending money on my project at the moment. I am still looking for an interior assembly manual though.
I am definitely interested in using you as a supplier as everyone that I have heard speak of you has had nothing but praise bar one instance and I do beleive that was only a lack of communication between the pair of you.
I will get pricing of you in time for the other items as stated in the earlier post and anything else I will require but I do not wish to waist yours or anybody elses time if I am in no position to be able to purchase.
Regards Rodney

Hey Darren its not a problem because you would be entered in modified anyway and this would be classed as a modification and pick up a point.  Grin Grin Grin

Or maybe not.  Sad
